12th Osian’s-Cine-fan Film Festival - Closing Ceremony.


The ten days long extravaganza of OSIAN's Cine-fan Film Festival was finally ended up this Sunday evening. The closing ceremony marked the presence of top film stars, national and international dignitaries and big names from world cinema at the Siri Fort auditorium. 

A larger part of this ceremony witnessed actors, directors receiving awards for their widely acclaimed and appreciated works, but this grand show was culminated into a graceful end with the screening of Rituparno Ghosh’s Chitrangada.



 Mr. Nevilly Tuli, the man behind this grand show simply mesmerized the audience through his address. While motivating people to harness their creative powers he underlined the theory of creativity and emphasized the need for institution building. Chief Minister of Delhi Ms. Sheela Dixit graced the occasion as Chief Guest. 

Dedicated to bringing the finest films from India, Asia and the Arab world, the 12th edition of the Osian’s-Cinefan Film Festival showcased an exciting and bold program of over 200 films from more than 50 countries representing the best of Asian, Arab and Indian Cinema. The conceptual framework of ‘Freedom of Creative Thought & Expression’ was the focus of this year’s festival.

The event was compeered by Ranbir shauri and Vinay Pathak. With their witty remarks they added extra spice in the dish.

The Awards Are As Follows:

Audience Award And FIPRESCI Award:

The Audience Award for the 12th Osian’s Cinefan Film Festival as well as the FIPRESCI prize went to Hansa by Manav Kaul.

Shorts Competition:

The special mention award for the Shorts Competition went to The Bus by Olgu Baran Kubilay from Turkey.
The Best Film Award for the Shorts Competition went to Silent by L. Rezan Yesilbas from Turkey.

First Features Competition:

The Special Mention Award for the First Features competition went to In April the Following Year There was a Fire from Thailand.
The Best Film from the First Features competition went to Beyond the Hill by Elmin Alper from Turkey.

Indian Competition:

The Best Film Award for the Indian competition went to Ajay Bahl’s  B.A. Pass. It also won the Best Actor award for Shadab Kamal.
The Best Actress Award in the Indian competition went to Rii from Cosmic Sex.
The Best Director Award for the Indian Competition went to Ajita Suchitra Veera, director of 
Ballad of Rustom.
The Special Jury Award for the Indian competition went to Patang by Prashant Bhargava.

Asian And Arab Competition:

The Best Film Award for the Asian and Arab competition was won by Inside (Turkey), directed by Zeki Demirkubuz.
The Best Director Award for the Asian and Arab competition went to Faouzi Bensaidi, who made Death For Sale.
The Best Actress and Actor award for the Asian and Arab competition went to Taraneh Alidousti and Mani Haghighi respectively from Modest Reception.
The Special Jury Prize for the Asian and Arab competition went to Postcards from the Zoo, directed by Edwin.
The Special Mention Award for the Asian and Arab competition went to the film Milocrorze: A Love Story and its director Yoshimasa Ishibashi.
